Horticulture or Crops & Mushroom

For one to become our Horticulture or Crops farmer we require

  1. Minimum 3 Hectares of arable land (Owned or Leased)
  2. Lease should be having a minimum of 6 years remaining

 

 

Piggery

Piglet, Gamodubu Village, Kweneng District, Botswana, Nov 2017

To join our Piggery Out-Grower Program we require

  1. Minimum 1 Hectare arable land (Owned or Leased)
  2. Lease should be having a minimum of 6 years remaining

 

Poultry

Broilers, Southern District, Botswana, Dec 2018

Broiler Out-Growers require

  1. Minimum 1 acre of arable land (leased or owned)
  2. Lease should have at least 6 years remaining

 

Aquaculture

Fish Hatchery, Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province, Zimbabwe, Jan 2014

 Fish Out-Growers require

  1. Minimum of 1 Hectare of arable land (leased or owned)
  2. Lease should have at least 6 years remaining
  3. Permission to dig and construct ponds from owner and any other relevant authorities
  4. Sustainable Water Source Capable of producing at least 5 cubic meters an hour
  5. If a water source is yet to be developed, please provide necessary evidence proving that a water source with the above mentioned output can be developed.

Marketing, Processing, Packaging & Logistics

If you wish to sell your crops, fish or livestock to or through our brand you require

  1. Proof of Ownership of Produce
  2. Well kept records of the production, packaging or processing activities involved
  3. Well kept records of all inputs or feed, chemicals or vaccinations that have been used during the production process
  4. Where necessary a health certificate 
  5. For livestock you need a vet report and/or permit 
  6. For livestock you also need police clearance 
  7. Farm maybe inspected for environmental protection, employee safety and healthy systems
  8. Laboratory and/or any other necessary tests maybe conducted to verify production processes and determine quality 
  9. Grading maybe done according to market specifications
  10. For VCF Africa members most of these requirements are ordinarily there

To Participate in these new Livestock Out-Grower Programs

  1. Have a reasonable size of land according to your desired program (Owned or leased)
  2. Lease should have a minimum of 6 years remaining on small stock and a minimum of 15 years for Beef and Dairy.
